How to prepare for the immigration medical examination

Some of the things required on the day of examination include

• Form I-693, which bears a report of your medical examination and vaccination history;

• an identity document such as a passport or driver’s license;

If you’re a minor, you may have to be accompanied by your parent or guardian to the office.

What happens during the examination?

Your doctor will first perform a physical examination on you. He/she will check your mental health, weight, height, vision, hearing, listen to your lungs and heart, check your reflexes and strength, and feel your abdomen.

Next, you will be taken through urine and blood tests followed by chest x-rays and other tests if necessary.
